Yesterday, I joined a Ukrainian🇺🇦 rally in front of the U.S. Embassy in London, to say what should be obvious 📢 A Russian peace is no peace at all. Here me out:
We are here today because we know that in unity, we can prevail. Because we know that Ukraine’s fight is a fight for justice, for freedom, for the right of a people to determine their own future without being invaded, bombed, and occupied.
And yet, today, we still see hesitation. We still see governments debating whether to send peacekeepers, whether to take a stand, whether to support Ukraine without conditions. We should not have to debate this.
And yet, today, we still see hesitation. We still see governments debating whether to send peacekeepers, whether to take a stand, whether to support Ukraine without conditions. We should not have to debate this.
A Russian Peace Is No Peace At All
What Russia wants is control. It wants to rewrite history, to erase Ukraine’s independence, to expand its imperial ambitions. And it is willing to commit war crimes, to destroy entire cities, to massacre civilians to achieve that goal.
So when people talk about peace but refuse to support Ukraine, what they are really saying is: give Russia what it wants. They are saying: let the aggressor win.
We reject that. Real peace is built on justice, on accountability, on trust.
That means Ukraine must be able to defend itself.
That means war criminals must be prosecuted.
That means Russia’s imperial ambitions must be stopped.
Not just for Ukraine, but for all of us.
Trump’s Presidency is breaking further our world
Trump’s presidency has been marked by cozying up to war criminals—from Putin to Netanyahu. Leaders wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes are being treated as partners, not criminals.
But let’s be clear: this world order wasn’t working before Trump either.
-
An order where Russia can invade, veto any consequences, and block discussions on its own war crimes is not an order that works.
-
An order where the U.S. leads but gets to blackmail countries, dictate terms, and pull support at the last moment is not a fair one.
-
An order where human lives are weighed against access to minerals and resources is an order built on hypocrisy.
So what now?
If the institutions meant to protect human rights are failing, then it is up to us to build a global coalition of those who will uphold them.
-
This coalition must include countries from Latin America, from Africa, from Asia.
-
This coalition must include every nation that believes in freedom, in justice
-
This coalition must be united not just against Russia’s war, but against every form of occupation, aggression, and oppression.
Because Ukraine is not the only nation fighting for its survival.
Palestine is fighting for its survival. DRC is fighting for its survival.
Freedom struggles around the world are connected—and we must fight for all of them.
That is why this moment must be a turning point.
I am tired of hearing people claim to be “pro-peace” while refusing to stand with Ukraine.
No one wants peace more than Ukrainians.
They are the ones who wake up to air raid sirens.
They are the ones burying their families.
They are the ones fighting every single day to survive.
Peace comes from security, from accountability, from justice.
If we want peace, we must:
âś… Support the work of international courts seeking to prosecute Putin.
✅ Support Ukraine’s right to defend itself—militarily, politically, and economically.
✅ Support Ukraine’s reconstruction—not just with words, but with action.
Because justice without action is just empty rhetoric.
The Choice Is Clear
Russia invaded Ukraine. Again. And to ensure it never happens again, we must stand with Ukraine. Fully, without hesitation, without conditions. Because this is not just Ukraine’s fight. This is a fight for justice, for security, for the very idea that countries do not have the right to invade their neighbors. This is a fight for a new world order, one that is not dictated by those who profit from war and occupation. A world order where Ukraine is free. Where Palestine is free. Where oppression is not an option, no matter who the aggressor is. Because if we let Russia win, we let war win. If we let this broken system continue, we guarantee more conflict, more suffering, more injustice. That is why we cannot stop. That is why we will not stop.
This is a moment for action, not just words.
📢 Pressure our governments to increase military and financial support for Ukraine, and send peacekeepers!
📢 Call for real UN reform—one where justice is not dictated by who holds a veto.
📢 Stand against every form of occupation and aggression—not just in Ukraine, but everywhere.
We will not stop.
We will not back down.
Because Ukraine must win.
Because justice must win.
Because a free world depends on it.
Slava Ukraini!
